ING’s Wholesale Bank helps companies, institutions and governments to gain access to capital in support of their success and further growth. We provide M&A advice, capital structuring advice, help companies hedge their FX, interest and commodity risk, support daily payment requirements and finance a variety of assets throughout the 7 Sectors in which we’re organized.
Those Sector are Telecom Media Technology & Healthcare, Energy, Real Estate, Financial Institutions, Commodities Food & Agri, Transportation & Logistics and Diversified Corporate clients. In those Sectors we have a global network of employees with in-depth sector knowledge and product expertise. Dependent on a client’s need the Sector colleagues work in close collaboration with product specialists and as such aim to service clients with their financial needs and give them an unique experience.
Through an internship in ING’s Sector organization you’ll have the opportunity to get to learn ING, a specific Sector and the services it provides, what it is to be a fulltime banker and whether this is an industry for you to pursue your career in.
How will you internship with TMT&H look like
The companies we cover in Amsterdam are mostly related to large corporates active in Telecommunication, Media, Entertainment, Technology, Satellite and Healthcare. As an intern you will work in multiple deal teams involved in transactions in our various subs-sectors where you for example work on Corporate, Leverage and or Project Finance transactions relating to datacenters, fibre networks or private hospitals. You work most closely together with team members in Amsterdam, but as we have offices in Frankfurt, Madrid, Singapore, Sydney and New York you will come across a variety of colleagues. As an Intern your job will be diverse, but your main tasks consist of:
Contribute to new deals through conducting financial analyses, performing market research or drafting commercial proposals;
Support with portfolio management activities, know your customer tasks and annual credit reviews; and
Potentially work on one or more specific research topics which are driven by sector developments and in which ING wants to further develop its expertise
We aim to give you an experience that comes close to what you will be doing if you decide to start a banking career as an Analyst.
Currently enrolled in a University Master (or final year Bachelor) student preferably in the field of Business Administration, Economics, Econometrics or Finance
Lives or willing to relocate to Amsterdam area, concerns a hybrid role with a strong preference to work from the office
Analytical, detail-oriented team-player who takes responsibilities
Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
A high degree of self-initiative and eagerness to learn
Exceptional communication skills in English, any other language is a plus
Familiarity with the TMT or Healthcare sectors in Europe is a plus
