Your role

You will be working with the core team of ING Labs whose mission is to ensure that internal start up initiatives are set up for success. The core team consists of 5 members: Head of ING Labs, Talent Manager, HR Admin Support, Community Manager and an Operations Manager, and supports more than 50 people. 

Being in innovation means that we constantly strive for improvement and keep on experimenting with our own projects. Therefore, we need you to challenge us with your fresh ideas! 

For the next 6 months, your role will focus on 3 main areas:  

Content strategy and LinkedIn Talent Group management: You will be working closely with the Talent Manager on increasing membership and engagement in our TalentHub Group: 

  • Building the social media content strategy of our Talent Hub LinkedIn group through creative and targeted posts. 

  • Working with the Talent Manager of the Labs to find, identify and contact key innovative profiles for our initiatives. 

  • Keeping our LinkedIn group engagement metrics and Recruitment dashboard up to date, providing reporting and analysis and working on areas for improvement identified by those metrics. 

 External event coordination: You will help us organize a quarterly talent event with the goal to attract qualified candidates and increase ING Labs brand awareness.  Your role will be to  

  • Planning and coordinating the events, including building the agenda, scheduling and communication. 

  • Being the main point of contact for participants and internal stakeholders. 

  • Measuring event effectiveness. 

Employee Onboarding: We have a personal approach when it comes to onboarding new employees. We are looking to optimize and streamline our process and make sure everyone has a great onboarding experience. You will be working with the Community and Operation Managers to improve our onboarding processes including: 

  • Working with our Community Manager to ensure clear content. 

  • Working with our team to build an onboarding package that makes new employees feel welcome and supported.  

Your profile

  • You are currently enrolled in a degree program in marketing, communications or a related field.  

  • You have knowledge or experience in social media management, project management or event coordination. 

  • You are curious, proactive and willing to learn. 

  • You have excellent communication skills. 

  • You are fluent in spoken and written English. 

  • You have strong attention to detail.

Internship ALM Model Development

You will become responsible for developing the ALM models of ING globally. The models ensure accurate hedging of interest rate risks in the commercial books (e.g. wholesale lending, mortgages, savings, current accounts) and a sufficient capital base to cover for losses of unexpected market rate movements (e.g. FX, interest).

You will perform your responsibility in the ALM Model Development team. The team comprises of thirty members. The team is organised in five squads and operates in an agile way. Three squads are based in Amsterdam and two squads are based in Warsaw. You will be allocated to one of the Amsterdam squads. While your career progresses, you will get the opportunity to widen your scope and rotate between the different squads.

The model development projects are run with various stakeholders and experts throughout the bank and across the globe. You will be - together with your squad members - responsible to manage the project(s), facilitate the right decision making and meet the timelines with high quality deliveries. Deliveries generally result in a code base, technical model description, user acceptance documentation and presentation summary for senior stakeholders. Besides projects, you are also responsible to advice on specialised modelling topics.

While there are of course no guarantees, in practice many former ING interns subsequently move into a starter’s role at ING or onto the ING International Talent Programme (traineeship). Whatever happens, an internship at ING is the ideal opportunity to meet a wide variety of people, start to build up your own network, and learn about many different aspects of business – which all adds up to a great start for the rest of your career!
